Don’t forget your own backyard!
If you have (or can borrow) a portable projector and have a light colored wall, you are good to go to turn your backyard into a theatre. Maybe not top notch quality but certainly top notch fun for the family. Younger kids would have have a lot of fun decorating a large box to look like a car earlier in the day. Add a pillow and they can enjoy a “drive-in” movie after the sun sets!
On a related topic, here’s the link to an article about local summer passes, which includes info on the $1/movie the Harkins Summer Movie Fun Pass. This pass allows you to select the day and theater you will want to use over the course of the summer.
