Disneyland has just begun its 70th Anniversary Celebration and it is something spectacular, of course!
Here’s an overview of all that is new and special incorporated into the year long celebration. (It’s a lot so grab a chair.)
To kick things off, there are special ticket and hotel rates. But these specials are only good from now until August 14th so don’t sit and think about it too long!. Get all the details.
There are new parades at both Disneyland and California Adventure, including a lighted “Paint the Night” Parade at Disneyland. Special night time light shows are part of the celebration too. “World of Color Happiness!” is at California Adventure. At the castle in Disneyland, the “World of Color” show is inspired by Walt Disney’s opening day dedication speech. And the facade of “Its A Small World” comes to life each night with “Tapestry of Happiness.”
Throughout the resort is special anniversary decor to set the stage for the celebration and, throughout the 70th celebration, a series of all-new Magic Shots, Disney PhotoPass Lenses and other photo enhancements will become available in Disneyland and California Adventure. The benefit to you? Great, once in a lifetime, photos!

Entire new lines of 70th Anniversary merch have been designed and are available. There’s a special anniversary edition MagicBand+ as well.
Since no celebration is complete without some tasty treats, there's a wide selection of items have arrived for this milestone anniversary throughout Disneyland Resort. From brand-new creations, like the Mickey-shaped celebration waffles and specialty cold brrr-ew, to nostalgic eats inspired by the past, like the Mickey hat cookie and W.E.D. chili cheese baked potato, you won’t want to miss out on these limited-time menu items.
A new add-on experience fans of Disneyland history won’t want to miss is A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour. This two-hour walking tour explores the rich heritage of Disneyland park, from opening day attractions to the latest innovations. As you visit iconic locations around the park, you’ll learn more about Walt Disney’s vision of this happy place.
There’s probably more but you get the idea, right?
