National Ice Cream Month is wrapping up for 2025. For this last installment of the month long series, the shops featured are not exactly ice cream. Treats like a boba smoothie or frozen yogurt are cool and creamy like ice cream and just as good!
YOGURTINI Self Serve
Get ready for a multitude of mix and match options at this self-serve frozen yogurt shop. They have many flavors to choose from and then even more topping options. Because of all the variety, you won’t have to settle for something you’ve already tried for a really long time!
The well trafficked Surprise store is the one photographed but they have another location in Peoria. You can see it’s clean, bright, and you can create your own frozen yogurt masterpiece combining whatever you want. Paymentis done by the weight of your cup, rather than its contents. Plus, they have a whole bookcase filled with board games you can play. That’s a nice cue they’d like you and others in the community to hang out together rather than simply grab and go.

Royal Boba Tea
It’s cool, sweet and creamy. But we’re not talking about ice cream here, that’s the Lychee Peach Smoothie with Peach Boba being described! In addition to delicious smoothies, they have slurpies, teas, iced coffees and more in a wide range of flavors. There are about a dozen kinds of boba to choose from too, so you can create your perfect refreshment. There’s a lot on their menu board to consider but, whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong.
Royal Boba Tea is clean, the service polite, and, with Bashas right there, it’s a great way to treat the family plus get a few groceries at the same time. If you’ve never been, it’s worth a visit
(This shop is, coincidentally, located right next door to a Baskin Robbins, if you really do want ice cream and not an alternative!)
