Kittens, Cats & Bowling! Oh, My!

A Family Service Opportunity

By Lisa Franz, MacaroniKID Publisher: Surprise-Peoria-El Mirage July 31, 2025

4 Paws Rescue would love your support!

They are a local cat shelter that in 2024 adopted out 892 felines, took in 992, fostered 800 and are a no kill shelter with a 96% save rate.  They have several facilities around the West Valley and have become the third busiest shelter in Maricopa County! I personally have become familiar with them as they saved a distressed kitten that we stumbled upon.

They happen to be holding a 9-Pin (No Tap) Bowl-A-Thon on August 10th that anyone can be part of. It's a fundraiser and is open to both teams and individuals. If your family likes cats, or bowling, or both, sign up to be part of their Bowl a Thon!

Can't make the Bowling Fundraiser? That's OK, there are many additional ways to support them any time of the year.

  • If you shop at Fry's and have a VIP account you can automatically donate money by using their community rewards. It does not cost you on your bill and the donation happens automatically every time you shop. Select "Sun City 4 Paws Rescue" code BX289. The more people do this, the more funds 4 Paws receives to help cover their expenses.
  • You can foster cats for them or adopt through them.
  • They have an Amazon Wish List and Chewy Wish List and accept donations.
  • Shop at their Thrift Store. Proceeds from your purchases go towards their efforts.

Not only are we writing about them but so is your local newspaper from yourvalley.net. If you have an account with them check out Sun Cities 4 Paws keeps making space to see their article about 4 Paws good work.  The statistics at the top came from their article.

Do you have a good vet or shelter that looks after dogs and cats (or lions and tigers and bears!) that the MacaroniKID community should know about? If so, let me know so I can help spread the word.

Thanks for helping make things better for these animals!
