Asante Community Park in Surprise

Bring Your Frisbee!

When my kids were little, we had our unofficial family names for the parks we frequented. Hill park, soccer park, toad park, train park…based on things that were there or happened there. Today, I’m happy to share all about a wonderful park we would have called Frisbee Park!

First of all, it’s actually called Asante Community Park, and it’s a great place for all aged kids. It’s shaped like a capital letter “T”. In the trunk of the “T” are huge open spaces for playing ball, maybe even flying a kite. There’s also a shaded play area with swings and climbing apparatus children will love. There’s a military memorial and nice places to sit under the shade of trees or canopies too.

On the cross part of the “T” is where the park shows its unique character because there’s a Frisbee Golf course! It has 9 holes in a There-and-Back course that’s on the right side of the “T”. I’m not aware of any other parks nearby that have this feature so it’s a great novelty that you and your older kids can take advantage of together.

The cross part of the “T” actually goes for quite a ways in either direction making it ideal for a good walk or jog while the kids bike or skate alongside. The pavement is smooth and the path has no steep hills. Exercise stations have been placed along the path too, so you can really get a full body workout if you wanted.

Another noteworthy aspect of this park is that it is right next to the Asante Library, making it a convenient 2 for 1 outing. Hit the library and the park simultaneously, saving yourself time without needing multiple stops!

Asante Community Park is one you will want to check out. Have fun and good luck playing Frisbee Golf!
