All of us care about our neighbors and community but sometimes it’s not obvious where or how to best lend a helping hand. Enter JustServe.org!
JustServe.org has a website where the volunteer needs of organizations are posted, and volunteers search for opportunities to enhance the quality of life in the community. Many different organizations, causes, and volunteer options are available so you can probably find something of interest to you and your family. Some of them are kid friendly so you can start teaching your children how important and rewarding community service is!

Linking community volunteer needs with volunteers via their website, JustServe is a free service. What’s nice about it is that you can enter filters to fine tune your search. The kind of work, day of the week, location, indoors vs outdoors, and other filters are helpful to selectively whittle down the list of volunteer opportunities. Instead of a general listing that’s many pages long and takes forever to comb through, you can create a short list of options that match the specifications you entered.
In September some of the options include helping maintain a cemetery and put out flowers, providing musical entertainment at a senior center, and organizing donations at various food banks. JustServe operates year round, so check in regularly to see what project might be a really meaningful way for your family to volunteer.
