The Surprise Public Library System is excited to announce a new reading program in celebration of America’s 250th – Stars & Stories. The program will run from October 1, 2025 - July 4, 2026.
During the program, readers will be awarded fun badges and prizes, based on minutes read. The goal is to read 1,776 minutes over the next nine months in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Prizes will include books, American flags, challenge coins and patriotic swag!

What a fun way for kids to enjoy reading, celebrate our country, and earn some prizes along the way. (And, don't worry, if 1,776 minutes sounds like a lot, it’s actually pretty doable at about 50 minutes per week if you start now!)
