SpaceX Launches

By Lisa Franz, MacaroniKID Publisher: Surprise-Peoria-El Mirage October 20, 2025

Sometimes in the western sky we see amazing con trails coming up from behind the mountains that are so striking and beautiful. We hear about the rocket launches after the the fact on the news or maybe just happen to look up in the sky at the right time. But did you know SpaceX, the source of many of those sights, has all their launch schedules posted on their website?

So now you, your camera, and your rocket loving kids can be in the know and be aware of exactly when to keep an eye out for the launches. The website is https://www.spacex.com/launches and, as you scroll down the list, you’ll see they have 3 launch pads. Focus on the ones out of California, mark your calendar with the date and window of time they intend to do the launch, and you are good to go. (Assuming, of course, the launch is not delayed or cancelled!)

In the coming days there are some launches we might be able to enjoy. One is Oct. 25th between 7 and 11 am, there is another one the afternoon of Oct. 27th between 2 and 6 pm, and October wraps up with a last launch on Oct. 30th between 1-5 pm. That’s it for October but with 556 lunches already behind them, there will be more. Check in to their website periodically to see what’s coming up in their launch schedule.

If your kids are really into outer space, you might want to take them to the Lowell Observatory and Kids Exploration Center in Flagstaff (pictured below). Here’s an article about this fascinating and informative resource we have just a couple of hours away.
